SA Braai Day Favourites
What else says ‘proudly South African’ than a lekker braai? ‘Barbeque’ as it is called in other parts of the world, is a part of our heritage in South Africa, and that’s why every summertime we celebrate with a great Braai Day!
There are some braai accessories that everyone lives by when hosting a braai, here’s a compilation of essentials for an extravaganza Braai Day to ensure that you’re ready.
Tongs: There are a lot of options available to choose from, such as longer ones that really grip the coals and meat so that they’re easy to turn and move your meat. There are other tongs with a really firm grip.
Firestarters: Anything from your matches and/or lighter and Blitz (firelighters).
A sharp knife: A good sturdy knife will make it easy for you to cut the plastic to get to your meat, slicing off small cuts to test as you braai. A good knife is a no-brainer.
A basting brush: For mouthwatering and tender tasting results, marinate with this brush.
A grill brush: After a braai, it’s time for dishes! And nobody wants to be stressing about the cleaning up process when all the guests have left and the fun is over. A grill brush will make cleaning much easier.
Cooler box: There’s no perfect braai without some ice-cold drinks! Cold beer, red wine and any other drinks should be kept ready at all times.
