Two-Minute Room Declutter
Has your bedroom become a dumping ground for laundry? Unpacked bags and miscellaneous items everywhere? Decluttering your home and taking care of the messy living space around you is actually a way to take better care of your mental health.
You don’t need much to declutter your home, grab a storage box, storage cube, or any basket to get started. If you struggle to clean your living space, or don’t know how to begin, always keep these tips in mind:
- Start on one side of the room and work to the other side
- Do one drawer or shelf or spot on the floor at a time
- Pull everything out of the drawer or shelf (or section of the floor), and pile it in the working space
Follow These Decluttering Steps To Help You Take Control Of Your Room
1) Take your basket and start picking up any litter from the door of the room and work your way from one side to the other. Toss away crumpled paper, old magazines, broken items, etc.
2)Use your storage box or storage cubes for items that have crept out of their storage spaces. Look for any items that do not belong in the room, such as coffee cups in the bathroom or a sweatshirt in the kitchen. These are items that will go back to their designated spots.
3)Now that you’ve identified items that need to be put into their right place, use the hanging baskets to separate household items into different categories.
4)Lastly, fix and clean any items that may be broken or need repairs, such as a pair of shoes that you love but need to be cleaned.
