if you re looking to get your kids involved with crafting a heartfelt card here are a few ideas you can create with them heart bouquet cards what you ll need white cardboardtissue paperpage from a newspaperblack crayonscissorsglueribbon how to make it make the base of your card by folding a piece of paper in half starting at the folded edge cut a half heart shape out so when your card is opened it creates a full heart using a black crayon or piece of drawing charcoal sketch a few lines on the front of your card starting near the point at the bottom and fanning out toward the sides at the top these will be the stems of our flowers next cut some heart shapes out of a few different colors of tissue paper these are going to be the petals and leaves of your flowers so you can use many different colours and cut varied sizes as we did or use one or two colours in similar sizes experiment with making flower shapes out of layering different heart shapes there are endless combinations once you have your flowers arranged the way you d like glue the petals down onto the tops of your stems to create a 3 d effect try gluing only half of the heart onto the paper add some green leaves by cutting hearts in half and gluing them to the stem lines or around the petals just like a fresh cut bouquet from the market we re going to give ours a newspaper wrapping cut a couple of triangles out of a piece of newspaper and glue them one overlapping the other to the bottom of your card trim any excess from the edges to finish the bouquet grab a piece of ribbon or twine and glue a strip horizontally across the newspaper wrapping you can criss cross a couple of strips to look like wrapped twine or add a bow as if your bouquet has been tied up with a ribbon trim any excess from the edges conversation hearts bffs what you ll need white cardboardcolour cardboardscrap cardboardscissorspipe cleanersglue how to make it on the coloured cardboard draw out hearts and these short sayings bff ur cute wicked cool hug me love u xoxo leave some of the hearts blank too cut out the hearts that you re going to use trace the large heart body and 2 small heart feet onto a piece of scrap cardboard cut out with craft scissors then glue the hearts on using a glue stick gather 2 pipe cleaners and cut them both two thirds of the way across the length to create 2 legs that are 2 3 of the original length and 2 arms that are 1 3 of the original length fold your pipe cleaner leg pieces in half twist a few times then bend at the bottom to create a small foot hot glue the pipe cleaner foot to your cardboard heart feet with the points of the cardboard hearts facing toward the back curl up the ends of your pipe cleaner arms a couple of times to create a small ball that will be the hands gently push the legs and arms into the corrugated cardboard at the bottom and sides add a few dots of hot glue to secure them so you can move your arms and legs if you d like you can glue the blank heart templates to the back of your conversation hearts to finish them pop out heart cards what you ll need coloured cardboardscrapbooking paperscissorspencilglue how to make it pick 4 pieces of paper 3 pieces of coordinating coloured cardboard and 1 piece of scrapbook paper take the piece of scrapbook paper fold it and draw half of a heart at the fold we folded ours in at about 8cm but our heart was only drawn out to about 5cm wide take a full piece of the card stock and fold it in half lengthwise cut it down to a square open up the card and place it face down on the table place your first heart face down on top of the card with the spines aligned trace around it with your pencil fold the card stock and cut around the heart leaving a small section on each side of the heart attached to the card gently fold the heart inward to the inside of the card trace the heart on a flat not folded piece of card stock and cut it out now you can glue your first adorable heart over the heart attached to the card take your 4th piece of paper cut it down to the size of the card and glue it to the outside of the cut heart card this just finishes off the card and makes it neater and cooler and prettier and all that good stuff
